Ayurveda: meaning science of life, is a sister science to yoga. Yoga for the Kapha (Spring) time of year: In Ayurveda, Kapha represents springtime. As the snows melt into rivers and the blanketed ground is once again uncovered, we see the elements of Kapha-- water and earth. We can use our yoga practice to help us transition from the darkness of winter to the longer brighter days of Spring. We will salute the return of the sun, stir up any remaining lung congestion from winter colds and flu and open our hearts to the vibrant, limitless possibilities that this springtime renewal represents. Please join me for this celebration of Spring with gentle to moderate yoga poses and guided meditation. Yoga for the Vata (Fall) time of year: Vata, one of the 3 great principles of Ayurveda, is composed of the elements air and ether and creates the windy, drying, cool conditions of fall. By finding secure grounding and raising our internal fire, we can easily weather the gusty winds of fall and prepare for the colder temperatures of the approaching winter. » Back to top Please contact Heather to register: 905-770-5611 or heather@movementfromwithin.com |
