Teaching has been a very delightful part of my life.
I began “teaching” when I was 15, teaching drama at a day camp. I then taught dance, drama, fitness and directed fine arts camps, supervised children’s programs and senior’s programs for many years at many different venues.I have been teaching yoga since 2000. Teaching yoga has been an incredibly special gift that I offer. I discover that by teaching yoga I receive so much back from students through their feedback, their creativity, and the positive changes that I witness in them. Some of my youth students have been coming to classes for 3 – 5 years now. This has led me to offer a more expansive leadership opportunity. I get to teach them, teach them to assist others and grow within themselves. I have also embarked on my own teaching/ learning journey with the Rubenfeld Synergy Method® by returning to training as a “teaching intern”. As a Rubenfeld Synergist I work 1 on 1 with clients. I have experienced RSM as an incredible method for growth, self awareness and healing. I want to continue to share this with a greater audience. To begin this process within the community, I will offer a workshop entitled “Listening Touch” at several venues this year. There are other changes in my life. On August 2, 2009 I am getting married. Along with Ken will be his three daughters and his dog, a sweet Shelty named MacKenzie. The girls will all be off at University, as will two of my boys. I am glad to offer classes at my home studio this year where my cats Goldie and Izzie will greet you, along with Mack.
I hope that this year you will have the opportunity to experience yoga for yourself, for your child, or together in a “Mom and Daughter” or “Family” class. Perhaps a session in the Rubenfeld Synergy Method® or a workshop on “Listening Touch” will appeal to you. Either way, in whatever you choose, I wish you peace and support. There are many lessons that I have learned in my life, and the teacher part of me wants to share them all, however, more important than anything that I can teach you is the connection that we share with each other. Being present with each moment and each event may be the very best we all can do. For me, doing yoga, teaching yoga, and learning from my students is a wonderful gift for which I am grateful at all times. I thank all of you for your support, your growth and your feedback. Peace, Heather I look forward to hearing from you: 905-770-5611 or heather@movementfromwithin.com
